The author did a great job of showing the impact of conflicting belief systems within families. An enjoyable read, leaving you wanting more.

This novel is well worth a read... just make sure you don't have any important tasks to do when sitting down with it. Time will slip away! Carolyn Tonkin has done a wonderful job bringing the characters to life, portraying difficult relationships and addressing challenging themes such as abandonment and adoption.

This story entices you in. I couldn't put it down. It draws you into the lives and struggles of the characters, in such a way that you forget they are just fictional characters. I can't wait for the next one in the trilogy to find out what happens in the next part of the story.
